Four earthquakes made waves on the Richter scale around Santa Cruz County this week, with the largest measured at 2.9 on Tuesday at 7:37 p.m., offshore, 13 miles west of Boulder Creek. Two other quakes also hit the same exact spot.
Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter. As of Saturday evening, 37 people reported feeling the 2.9 on the U.S. Geological Survey website, including 29 in Boulder Creek, and one each in Aptos, Santa Cruz, Ben Lomond and Davenport.
