PHOTO GALLERY: Wharf to Wharf Wedding Proposal

The happiest people in Capitola on Sunday probably weren't the winners of the race.

Sunday's . While some had aspirations of personal records or even winning the race, one guy had a much bigger goal in mind.

Standing just past the Cliff Drive turnout, maybe the length of a football field from the end of the race, Shaneil stood with his friends and a huge sign that read, "Marry Me Emily."

At 9:33 a.m., an hour after the race began, Emily, his girlfriend of eight years, rounded the corner and spotted the sign. Check out the photos above to see what she said.

He ran ahead of his gf to get in the exact spot for the proposal. It was truly epic.

We saw him checking out the position of the sign from a strategic spot. He had a lot of eager supporters as well. All the planning and preparation worked!!!

This was like a movie. It was planned so perfectly and she had no idea and almost ran right past him!
