Earthquake Recap: Seven Shakes Near County Borders

Did you feel any of the earthquakes this week?

Seven small earthquakes made waves on the Richter scale around the borders of Santa Cruz County this week, with the largest measured at 2.5 on Saturday near San Juan Bautista. A trio of quakes shook in succession near Boulder Creek in the early hours last Sunday.

Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter. As of Saturday evening, four people reported feeling the 2.5 and six people reported feeling the 1.5 on the U.S. Geological Survey website.

See the chart below for times, locations, etc. of the seismic events.
