Celebrate World No Tobacco Day in Capitola-Soquel today.
Did you know that May 31 is World No Tobacco Day? The holiday is meant to coax the nicotine-addicted to take a step back from their dirty habit, at least for 24 hours. Over five million people die worldwide every year from tobacco use, so it's a pretty good idea.
In Santa Cruz County, not only use, but possession of any tobacco-related material in a public park can result in a $92 fine. So especially today, take care of your lungs and your wallet.
