Capitola Village Hosting Tree Lighting, Bag Decorating

The holiday spirit is alive in Capitola this weekend.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday at the Capitola Mall, Surfin' Santa — there's no shortage of holiday events in Capitola-Soquel. We've got two more coming up this weekend in Capitola Village.

Friday night marks the annual and First Friday Art Tour. The Shoreline Middle School band will kick off the evening with a performance at 5 p.m., followed by the tree lighting led by Mayor Dennis Nortonin front of on the corner of Capitola Avenue and Stockton Avenue. 

Following the lighting, from 6 to 9 p.m., stores throughout the Village will showcase local art and offer snacks.

The holiday festivities continue on Saturday with Light Up a Life, a luminary decorating party from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Capitola Bandstand. The lighting begins at 5:15 p.m.. Live ukelele music will be performed at the event by Celina and the C-Monkeys.
