New Leaf Market Donates More Than $3K to Flood Relief

New Leaf Market donated proceeds from Friday-Saturday.

The Capitola Village Flood Relief Fund continues to grow by the day, this week bolstered by a generous donation from .

Last week, the market on Friday and Saturday to the fund, which is being handled by the Capitola Chamber of Commerce. The market has since announced that its tally from the two days was $3,211.84.

"The community has really come together to support those that were hurt by the floods," said New Leaf Marketing Director Sarah Owens. "We were happy that our contribution will make a difference to those in need."

The funds will be made available to merchants and residents affected by the flood to help cover materials lost and construction costs.

In addition to the flood donation, New Leaf Market gives 10 percent of its annual sales to local nonprofit organizations.
