Jones & Bones Reopening Sunday After Car Smashed Exterior

The Capitola Avenue business was hit by a car on Monday.

Did you know your storefront can be plowed by a car, destroying a window, carpet, door frame, planter box and plenty of inventory, and you can be open for business just six days later?

That's the impressive feat being pulled off by Jennifer Jones, owner of , the Capitola Avenue business that was .

"I thought there was a gas main explosion or a bomb went off," Jones said, describing feeling the car hit the building. "I was in the back so I couldn't see it, but I was standing on the ground so I knew it wasn't an earthquake."

Since the incident, contractors have been "working diligently," Jones said, doing repairs around the clock to bring the business back to functional. Hours can't be wasted this time of year, as December is Jones & Bones biggest for sales with holiday shoppers abound. 

"I'm losing $3000 to $4000 per day," Jones said.

A soft opening is planned for Saturday, Dec. 10, with the grand reopening taking place the next day, complete with appetizers and champagne. 

"I'm passionate about this business," Jones said. "We might not have a front window on Sunday, but we will be open."
