The Go For Health Collaborative has announced the Golden Carrot Award in Santa Cruz County.

A Santa Cruz County organization is launching the third annual Golden Carrot award to recognize restaurants that have gone above and beyond to help residents live a healthy lifestyle.

The award was started by the Go for Health Collaborative, a group of more than 150 county agencies that aim to reduce childhood obesity by increasing healthy nutrition and physical activity.

The collaborative is accepting nominations through May 31 and winners will be announced at the end of June, organizers said.
