Dollar Tree Open and Hiring in Capitola

The discount store replaced Blockbuster on 41st Avenue.

Quick, cheap and easy: That's how the average consumer likes it these days. So it was no surprise when Netflix and Redbox effectively phased out physical video rental stores over the last few years, including the Blockbuster on 41st Avenue next to Capitola Diner.

And it's also no surprise that the store was quickly filled with something that fits the quick-cheap-easy mold as well — Dollar Tree.

The one-price-fits-all national chain opened in Capitola this week (grand opening signs still remain on the windows) and placards indicate that the store is hiring.
