Capitola Mall SPCA Back for Round Two

Barks and meows are filling the mall once again.

It was a holiday special last year, but the SPCA location in the Capitola Mall is back for fall 2012, equipped with dogs, cats, and plenty of pets in need of homes this year.

According to the Monterey County Herald, it is now located next to the in the mall. Last year it was on the other side of the mall, next to Sears and . 

"Though the new space is smaller, more pet supplies will be available, and it's in a more visible location that will draw more foot traffic," the Herald reported.

Last November, when the , the SPCA was "desperate for volunteers," Execultive Director Lisa Carter told Patch. And, of course, there are always animals waiting for new homes. To learn about adoption and volunteer opportunities, call the SPCA at 831-465-5000.

The Capitola Mall SPCA is open Fridays 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and weekends 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
