Book Cafe Hits One Percent of Total Goal at Fundraiser Kickoff Party

One percent down, 99 to go. That's the word from the , which held its Survive & Thrive kickoff party on Sunday.

The local literary juggernaut is in the process of attempting to stay afloat, its that would facilitate its events and education platform.

May 20 was a small step in the right direction though, as the six-week fundraising campaign was launched with a party at the business that brought in $2,800 through a silent auction and donations. 

According to an email from the Book Cafe, over 200 people were in attendace, including local authors Claudia Sternbach, Laurie R. King, Dan White and Geoffrey Dunn.
