Owner Carol and daughter Katherine take only five days off a year. That makes The Cook House more like mom's kitchen than any other restaurant in town. But even my mom didn't cook breakfast to order the way I get it there. Locals show up with hunger and leave with smiles. Try it. You'll like it. So will your mom.

The Cook House is open every day from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Gayle's Bakery & Rosticceria received 14 votes to finish second in the "Best of" contest. Reader Peking commented that at Gayle's, "the bread is outstanding, and the fillings, though meager, are assembled with great taste and care."
