3 Email Tips that Can Save You Hours Everyday

It's no secret that email can be the ultimate time suck. We want to be responsive to our daily challenges and tasks, but the constant distractions and email popups are killing our productivity. 

Here are 3 email tips to help you avoid time suck:

1. Switch to the new Gmail format. If you don't have gmail, try it out. It's free and you can check any email address (such as yourname@yourdomain.com). Gmail has a new feature that places social, promotional and other distracting non-essential emails into their own folder so you can focus on your primary important emails now. It's the ultimate time saver (see screenshot)

2. Turn off your phone email notifications. They are distracting and most of the time you won't act on them until you are at your computer. 

3. Schedule time slots in the early morning and late afternoon to clear your email. Let's face it. We will always have unexpected interruptions or tasks that need to be addressed. Most are not mission critical and these are times that present an opportunity to address issues and organize your day.
