Grand Theft Reported at Murder Scene in Soquel

The family associated with the Nicasio Way home has been in the news constantly since the homicide.

The home at 383 Nicasio Way in the Soquel Hills was the scene of a fatal shooting last August

Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office documents show that the house is also now the location of a new grand theft case.

According to the May 15 sheriff's press log, the resident of the home — the mother-in-law of Jeff Smith, who was killed in the driveway last year, reported that $3,900 in goods was stolen sometime earlier this week.

Colin Tisdale has been named as the lead suspect in the homicide.

Amanda Sloan, the widow of Jeff Smith, led police on a high-speed chase through Soquel in November, in which she shot a gun at the pursuing cop car through her sunroof. She was on the run for nearly a month before being arrested in early December.
