'X Factor' Results: Chris Rene is Safe Again, Rachel Crow Goes Home

Rene has advanced to the semifinal round of the FOX talent show.

He might not be the best technical singer of the bunch, but certainly has the "X-Factor."

Rene's were enough to continue his safety streak Thursday night, skating into the show's semifinal round, comprised of the four remaining contestants. Not once throughout has Rene been in danger of elimination, having avoided the bottom two consistently.

This week's pair to receive the least amount of votes was Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty. Crow had never felt the heat of elimination before Thursday, while Canty has has found himself in the same position each of the last three weeks. Along with Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik were passed onto next week's show.

Crow and Canty squared off in the live showdown. Ultimately, it was Crow's "I'd Rather Be Blind" that could not best Canty's "I'm Going Down." After a 2-2 split from the judges, America's vote kept Canty in the competition, sending Crow into tears on the stage.

Santa Cruz's James Durbin reached the top four of American Idol last spring before being eliminated. Will Chris Rene ascend further than Durbin could? Tune in next week to find out.
