Looking for Creative, Homemade Halloween Costume Ideas?

Start brainstorming homemade Halloween costumes now, rather than later.

Written by Jane McInnis

If you're like many folks out there, you come up with brilliant Halloween costume ideas in May that are forgotten by October.

Halloween stores are easy (albeit pricey), but it just isn't the same as putting together a unique costume that's held together with aluminum foil and duct tape.

Pinterest.com has an interesting collection of photos sent in by users: Think Flo, the Progressive Insurance ladya teabag (you read right), or Rosie the Riveter (the We Can Do It!) poster woman.

Now is the time to start brainstorming so you know what to look for in thrift store aisles and beyond, for yourself or your children.

Do you have any ideas from Halloween past you'd like to share? Leave your suggestions in a comment.

(and if you have any photos of creative costumes from the past, please share on our boards!)
