Grab & Go Kids' Planner: The Beach Rules for Art, Music and Soccer

Art and music on the beach in Capitola and soccer on the beach in Santa Cruz; a free museum day, and a last chance to see Aladdin; our suggestions for this week's Kids' Planner.

Where/When: 131 Monterey Ave. Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Sit in the park or on the beach, bring a picnic supper and enjoy the music. It's summer (well, almost) and the Art & Cultural Commission is kicking off the traditional Wednesday night Twilight Concerts in Esplanade Park. This can be an excellent family time to share a meal and enjoy the music.

Where/When: , 209 Capitola Ave. (Esplanade Park) Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: This all-day celebration of Capitola, which will be a regular summer event (every other Sunday) will feature art and music on the beach. Art work will also be for sale.

Pricing: Free admission.

Where/When: Monschke Hall at 2701 Cabrillo College Dr., Aptos.  Friday, 7:30 p.m., Saturday,3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, 3 p.m.

Why Go: It's always a pleasure to see the tale of Aladdin, and even moreso when it is performed by a local children's theater group. Your children will enjoy it and you will, too.

Pricing: $10 to $15

Where/When: Museum of Art & History, 705 Front St. Santa Cruz, Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Why Go: A free day at the museum. A chance to see all the museum has to offer at no cost to you. If you are there at noon, you'll also get a free docent-led tour of the museum's current exhibits.

Where/When:  Beach St & Cliff St, Santa Cruz, Saturday and Sunday 

Why Go:The Pro-Am Beach Soccer Championships feature amateur and professional soccer teams in exciting beach competition. There will be 125 youth and adult teams playing.

Pricing: Check with Santa Cruz Beach Board for discount soccer tickets.
