Get Out in Capitola Soquel: Hawaiian Luau and The Family Stone

A twlight concert, a Hawaiian luau, The Family Stone and more; our suggestions to Get Out in and around Capitola-Soquel.

Where/When: 131 Monterey Ave., Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Outdoor concerts are always a delight, and even more so when they are offered right at home as this one is.  This week's performer is the Cocktail Monkeys, a dancy part/rock group.

Why Go: The next best thing to going to Hawaii is this hometown luau complete with island food and flavor and tropical beach music. It's an outdoor party with a purpose, since half the proceeds will go to help  Grind out Hunger. So come to the luau and party for a cause.

Pricing: Admission, free; $10 wine and beer tasting, $2-10 for food

Where/When: , 400 Beach St, Santa Cruz, Friday, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 

Why Go: If you are a child of the 60s, you will remember the Family Stone. And if you aren't, you have probably heard and danced to their music anyway. So take this opportunity to hear The Family Stone live and in person.

Where/When: , 1124 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, Thursday, 5 p.m. ot 7 p.m.

Why Go: Be there to celebrate the launch of the Santa Cruz Beach Downtown Trolley. After the ribbon cutting, there will  be free trolley rides. Be there to join the celebration.

Where/When: , 1305 E Cliff Dr, Santa Cruz, Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why Go: Learn about water conservation by listening to the music of ZunZun. They have more than 20 musical instruments from North, Central and South America. They are offering two shoes — one at 10:30 a.m. for the earlier risers and another at noon.

Pricing: $4 adults, $2 seniors, free for members and those under 18.
