Fred McCarty to Play Capitola Bandstand Wednesday

The Capitola Twilight Concert Series is continuing with a country show.

Country artist Fred McCarty is set to play the Capitola Esplanade Bandstand Wednesday for the eighth of 11 shows in the .

Starting at 6 p.m., the first come first served seating show is free of admission and sponsored by Capitola Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites. 

McCarty is originally from the Allegheny Mountains region, and lists his bluegrass and country influences as Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Sr., Bob Wills, Sons of the Pioneers and Gene Autry.

According to his official website, McCarty and his band show off "rich vocal harmonies, combined with outstanding instrumental expertise, [making] each performance an exciting display of musical entertainment."

He has performed across the country with musical heavyweights like Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings and Trisha Yearwood.
