Last Chance: Important Local Deadlines

We all do it. Forget to mark our calendars for upcoming soccer league sign-ups, prom tickets or local business expos. There are so many events and opportunities in Capitola-Soquel that is can be hard to keep tabs on them all.

Fortunately, Patch is here to help track some of those important deadlines. The following is a list of deadlines coming up. Take a look before it's your last chance!

COMMUNITY

Today, Tuesday, April 24, is the last chance to nominate a resident of Capitola-Soquel for the prestigious Presidential Citizens Medal. This can be someone who volunteers to make their community a better place, or someone who goes above and beyond their regular call of duty to make the world a better place. SCHOOLS

Soquel High students, this is the last week to purchase discounted Grad Night tickets. Starting May 1, they go up in price. Purchase tickets for $100, versus $125 after the deadline, here.

Reserve your tickets by the morning of May 1 for the 2021 Eddy Awards. Soquel High music educator Mark Bidelman will be honored there with the Special Foundation Award for community achievement and contribution.

Registration for Cabrillo College’s summer session began on April 24. While there is not currently an enrollment deadline, many courses fill up fast, so enroll now!

High school student-athletes have until April 30 to apply for the Wayne Richards Memorial Scholarship. Eligibility: graduating senior varsity athlete, GPA 3.0 or above, evidence of involvement in school or community affairs, intend to enroll full-time, starting in the fall, at a university, college or trade school. The Soquel High School counseling office has all the necessary information.
