June 28 is National Columnists Day, and in celebration, let us recognize the columnists of Capitola-Soquel Patch for their great work since we launched late in 2010.

Michelle maintains our Wednesday Moms Talk column, offering advice on everyday parenting, from her perspective as the single mother of an elementary school-aged son.

You probably see Maria's name pop up on the site pretty often. That's because aside from her work as a columnist, she also covers local events regularly. Her weekly Friday column, From the Fields, covers plants and foods that are in season at the local farmers markets, complete with recipes and background information on the farmer of the week.

We are lucky to have Stephen grace the homepage of Patch every Monday with his photo column, Tourist in My Own Town. The column is simple: Stephen finds weekly sights worth sharing, and makes sure we all enjoy them as vividly as he does in person.
