Get Out in Capitola-Soquel: Jazz, Cycling and Wine

Wine, a bike race and jazz at the beach can all be yours this week in the Capitola-Soquel region.

Where/When: Capitola Beach Esplanade Park, Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Why Go: Spice things up with a performance from Mambo Tropicalthis week at the Capitola Concert at the Beach. The latin group will hit the stage at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket, a picnic and the family to the show.

Where/When: Capitola Book Cafe, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Why Go: California Assemblymember Bill Monning will speak about his "Vision for a Healthy California" on Thursday night at the . Join your fellow Santa Cruz County residents to listen to the assemblymember discuss the timely issue to California, the county and the nation.

Where/When: 5000 N Rodeo Gulch Rd, Soquel, CA 95073, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12 pm to 5 p.m. 

Why Go: Winemaker Katy Lovell offers a smoky Syrah, potent Petite Sirah and classic Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. Sample each fantastic blend and leave with a smile and a bottle! 

Pricing: $5 tasting fee. Full refund with purchase of bottle.

Where/When: Race start line is at Alexander and Union St. in downtown Watsonville. Start time for the first race is 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The final race begins at 5:20 p.m. 

Why Go: The inaugural cycling race coincides with the annual Strawberry Festival in Watsonville. Sponsored by California Giant Berry Farms, the race will feature over 200 cyclists as they buzz through the streets of Watsonville.

Where/When: Esplanade Park, Capitola, CA. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. 

Why Go: The Jack Bowers Quartet will sooth guests with some jazz, a perfect compliment to the quality artwork and photography on display for patrons to purchase this weekend. Enjoy some sun, jazz and great art this weekend in Capitola.
