Photo of the Day: 'Famous' Hip-Hoppers Hit Capitola

And what was the most interesting thing YOU saw in Capitola this week? Post your pictures on the Boards.

These duo of independent recording artists who didn't want to give their names or an example of their work unless you paid them $20, were in the Village Monday hawking their CDs at Capitola and Stockton avenues.

They were running up to cars and hitting up passersby promising autographed copies of their discs. For the while I watched, no one was biting.

"I like country," yelled one guy from a car.

"You don't look like you like country," replied the guy who identified himself as Tommy Brown. His partner, in the Yankees hat, said, "Why you giving him my name?"

The Tommy Brown on the left said Ziggy Marley recorded with him on his disc and that both of them had blown up in New York, Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Someone told them Capitola would be a good place to sell CDs, he said.

After posing for pictures, Tommy said that having his face on the Internet might not be such a good idea and wondered if the pictures could be deleted.

Considering they were already famous and on a public street corner stopping traffic, that didn't seem like such a good idea.

They said they had a website at www.silencetheviolence.org, but for some reason, no music site comes up there.
