Earthquake Recap: Two Small Tremors Early in the Week

The San Andreas fault zone remained fairly quiet this week, with two small tremors occurring to the north and east of the county.

Over the last week, there were two small earthquakes in the vicinity of Santa Cruz County. 

The first tremble occured on Monday, November 7 at 10:28 a.m. It was a 1.4 earthquake with an epicenter 7 miles N from Corralitos, and 10 miles N from Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley.

A second tremble occured Tuesday, November 8 at 3:17 p.m. It measured at 1.4 on the Richter scale as well. The epicenter was two miles E from Aromas, and over ten miles E from Watsonville.

No one reported feeling the earthquakes on the U.S. Geological Survey website.
