Capitola Police issued an advisory Monday afternoon warning motorists to avoid Wharf Road during the evening commute due to a downed power line that was causing traffic to back up.
The power line fell near Grace Street around 4 p.m. It took authorities about an hour to clear up the situation, according to police.
Traffic was detoured during repairs, police reported.
