Meth, Guns, Pills, Pot Seized from Aptos Home

An Aptos man and woman were arrested late Monday for possession of a heap of illegal materials.

Santa Cruz County Jail has become a regular stomping grounds for Aptos resident Shannon Herzberg in 2012, and on Dec. 10 she made her third visit there in the last four months.

At 9:21 p.m. Monday night, Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies served a search warrant on Herzberg's residence at 222 Santa Cruz Ave. in Aptos and recovered guns and drugs aplenty.

"The search resulted in seizure of narcotics possessed with the intent to sell (including methamphetamine, prescription pills and marijuana), seizure of 10 rifles and 4 shotguns," Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Dimick said.

Along with Herzberg, 31, Andreas Ginghofer was also arrested at the residence. Dimick said that both Herzberg and Ginghofer live at the location of the seizure.

The charges against the gun-toting duo include possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm while under in the influence of a controlled substance.
